After the reunion, I visited the National Museum of the USAF, at Wright-Patterson AFB. C-133A 62008 is now inside, protected from the weather. it looks excellent, surrounded by other planes much smaller. There was talk that it would be displayed with an Atlas on its transporter lined up behind. But, the museum could not find the rails that were used. Plus, that would take up a huge amount of floor space. Still, this is one C-133 that is protected the best from weather, birds and all of the other problems that the airplanes stored outside suffer. I enjoyed the reunion a whole lot and it was a great pleasure to meet so many people from the Dover squadrons. Thanks to everyone who contributed so much to the book.

i am sure i emailed you at some the past, but have since switched emails and all old mail was lost.
a funny story about the c-133 2008 my grandfather cmsgt jack chambers(ret) was crew chief on that plane when it set the weight lift record in 1958
anyway we happened to be a wright patterson when we saw someone go in the side door of the plane my grandfather took the opportunity to ask the poor guy if we could go inside, well we were shocked it was in complete disarray and was being used to store extra parts, and misc garbage. next thing i know we were in the commanding officers office, and i am no sure how mush pull a retired cmsgt has but my granddad was promised it will be put back to the condition it was brought to the base with and will be put inside.
later on during the visit we saw an o-2 inside that he had personally retrieved from the jungle on a line down from a ch-47 chinnok(?) after it was shot down. he came under enemy fire and was awarded the bronze star with v for the action, so this brought his spirits up again thank goodness. i think that old c-133 captured his heart though like nothing but god or my grandmother had before.
